Empowered for Employment

The Arc of Greater Beaumont is proud to launch the “Empowered for Employment” program, a specially designed programs to teach Arc members, people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), how to obtain and retain employment. 90% percent of the special needs population served by the Arc of Greater Beaumont are low income citizens who are traditionally under-served and who do not have access to the technology and training needed to apply for and acquire meaningful employment in today’s technology-rich work environment. The “Empowered for Employment’ program is unique to other job training services in Southeast Texas, because it is created solely for individuals with IDD. The program is designed to achieve its goals with three major strategies- education, training and Internet support. This program was made possible by a grant through AT&T.
