The Arc of Greater Beaumont
Holiday Greetings from The Arc of Greater Beaumont! It has been another great year here at The Arc of Greater Beaumont! On behalf of myself, Brenda, Sydnee, Grace, and Kaydi, I want to say thank you to all of you for making this past year such a wonderful one!As we wrap up the year, I can’t help but smile thinking about everything our community has accomplished together. Once again, we have fostered and built relationships with new partners in our community who believe in and support our mission — both financially and through service. It’s been a fantastic year for our programs — full of learning, laughter, and meaningful moments where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities had the chance to shine, grow, and connect.Through our adult services, we continued to enjoy fun events like our dances, Bowling Night, Game Night, and our wonderful Thanksgiving feast. Our book clubs met weekly all year long and made their way through multiple books. Our art classes met regularly and had the opportunity to showcase their work and talent in the community. Our Arc Athletes have lost weight and feel great this year! One of our most popular new events has been our Girls’ and Guys’ Nights — each one different and giving our friends a chance to try new things. Our children and family services continued to thrive this year, with Parents’ Night Out and Summer Camp being very popular and well attended. Both activities give kids a safe and fun place to interact with their peers while also giving parents an opportunity to enjoy time together. Our Mom’s Lunch has been a wonderful way for parents to connect for fun and support. Our Teen Program has grown and is getting a little taste of what adult programs will be like. We are so excited about the growth of this program! The Southeast Texas Self-Advocates group truly had the opportunity to shine this year through invitations to present at the state self-advocates conference. They also visited our state Capitol and learned how to be active participants in the legislative session. They served as a resource for our elected officials and worked with other organizations whose missions align with The Arc’s. They also spent a lot of time in the community supporting organizations with similar goals. We are proud of all they have achieved! One of the most exciting milestones has been watching construction move forward on our new classroom, library, and office space. Each day, we see our future taking shape. We’re especially thrilled about our new sensory space — made possible thanks to the generosity of Valero — which will give the people we serve a calming, engaging environment designed just for their needs. We’re still working hard to “Build The Arc,” and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us so far. Together, we’ve raised $270,000 toward our $400,000 goal — and every bit truly helps us get closer. If you’re able, your donation makes a real difference. Donate here: www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=HM8Q6YFJRWMF4&source=qrOur calendar is full, our community is strong, and we’re excited to see all that 2026 will bring!Thank you for believing in our mission, showing up, and helping us continue this important work. Together, we’re building something truly special at The Arc of Greater Beaumont.Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!Sarah Hardin, Executive Director& The Arc Staff#bettertogether #cheerstochange ...
