Hello, everyone!Texas A&M University is currently recruiting Texans with developmental disabilities and their parents, guardians, and caregivers to participate in a free online training program funded by the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) and approved by the Texas A&M University’s IRB. Their bilingual (English and Spanish) trainings provide practical, easy-to-understand information on topics that many families find challenging to navigate, including:🧡Finding, choosing, and evaluating various healthcare providers🧡Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services🧡IEP and ARD meetings🧡Texas health insurance and Medicaid waiver programs 🧡Patient rights and self-advocacy🧡Effective communication with healthcare and service providersThe trainings are delivered entirely online and can be completed from the comfort of participants’ homes, workplaces, or any location with internet access using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Participants may start and stop the training at any time and complete it at their own pace. Each training module takes approximately 1–2 hours to complete, making it easy to fit into busy schedules.
