The “Grow and Play” program is a program in conjunction with S.T.A.R.S. Pediatric Outpatient Clinic designed to provide a place for parents and children up to 4 years of age with special needs to interact while learning techniques to help growth through physical activity.

Affecting positive change happens in our community (not just Austin!). Join The Arc of Texas for an individualized and community based advocacy training & work session.

The Arc ‘s goal is bigger than passing legislation during the 85th Legislative session (2017).  We need you to help build a movement of people who understand and care about our issues! Together we can engage communities and build relationships with policy makers.

Join the MOVEMENT!

  • Learn effective advocacy skills and policy priorities effecting Texans with disabilities.
  • Help create an advocacy action plan for your community to:
    • Build relationships with local decision makers;
    • Build a coalition of business partners; and
    • Develop a network of local media connections.
  • The Arc of Texas will provide training materials, a toolkit and ongoing support to implement your advocacy action plan!

Capture Your Memories in a Scrapbook

If you have a scrapbook from last year please bring it along with any pictures you would like to add.  The Arc will provide scrapbooks for anyone who does not have one and will have pictures from The Arc’s previous events that can be used in the scrapbook.

To ensure we have enough supplies and food for those in attendance please RSVP by Tuesday, July 19th.

  • Registration is Required.  Register online or call (409)838-9012.
  • Refreshments will not be available through Elise’s Family Fun Center but, you may bring your own food and drink to this event.
  • Children & adults are REQUIRED to wear closed toe shoes and socks.

sun-rays-mdWhat is The Arc Summer Day Camp?

Group games, arts & crafts, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and bowling are only a few of the great activities scheduled for camp! Camp counselors are all experienced teachers and aids who have worked with kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Visual supports will be provided to help with daily schedules, transitions and basic routines and expectations.  We will provide sensory stimulation toys and activities to help enhance your child’s development.

Who can come?

Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 8 to 15 are eligible to attend.  Call (409)838-9012 for details.

Camp is limited to 25 participants.  Register early, camp fills up fast!
Application and camp fees must be received by July 22nd.

It’s a great opportunity for safe, fun play and social interaction!
